President Buhari Lauds Governor Uzodinma over state development



President Muhammadu Buhari has applauded Imo State Governor Mr Uzodinma for developing the State.

The President made the commendation on Tuesday while commissioning some projects in the State.

Buhari said he was impressed that the governor has completed some projects within a short period of his administration despite the lean resources available to him.

“On our part, the federal government will continue to support the government of Imo State to ensure that it continues to give dividends of democracy to the people,” he said.

The president said he would extend the same support to other state governments irrespective of political affiliations.

“Our administration recognises the importance of critical infrastructure in economic development. And we are determined to drive the economic development of Nigeria through the provision of vital infrastructures across the length and breadth of the country.

“I am therefore happy that the administration of Governor Uzodinma is doing similar things in Imo State. So, I say bravo to the governor whose name I have informed means ‘Good road,’” Mr Buhari said.

The projects commissioned included the dualised 36-kilometer Owerri-Orlu Road and the first phase of the dualised 53-kilometer Owerri-Okigwe Road.

He also commissioned the newly reconstructed Imo House of Assembly Complex.

Mr Buhari said Nigeria has not recorded the expected developments because of a number of factors and the inability of the elite to assist the country.

Also speaking Governor Hope Uzodimma, said that the intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari helped him to restore peace and order in the state.

Uzodimma said the state would have been overrun by bandits and hoodlums if not for the intervention of the president through the security agencies.

“Your prompt intervention helped to restore peace and order in our state,” the Imo governor said.
