Five IEDs were planted at Ajilari Cross and Gomari Community in the night and detonated by 10 am Thursday.

This, however, coincided with the arrival of President Muhammad Buhari to inaugurate five education and 3.55km flyover bridge and 10-kilometre dualized road projects in the metropolis. The flyover bridge and road are to ease traffic gridlocks and commuting of residents.

The building of the distance learning centre and the roads project were after the 12-year Book Haram insurgency that claimed over 40, 000 lives with the destruction of property worth $9.2 billion (N4.2 trillion) in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.
